When Russia attacked Ukraine in February 2022, everyone was shocked. Ukraine is so brave, strong, and united now, even after all the damage. A big danger is coming to Ukraine’s rights and sense of self. To protect these things, the whole country is doing things that have never been done before.
Before you can understand how Ukraine was able to handle Russia’s attack, you need to know how strong it was. Ukraine has always been unique because it fights for freedom. For a long time, there were a lot of great countries around the country, from Tsarist Russia to the Soviet Union. People in Ukraine have kept their language, customs, and sense of what their country stands for. After years of hard work, Ukraine finally got its freedom in 1991, when the Soviet Union broke up.
During the 2014 Revolution of Dignity, even more people in Ukraine spoke out for freedom and political ideas. The war in eastern Ukraine and Russia’s invasion of Crimea woke us up and made it clear that we need a strong defense.
